Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Tier 3 = Tier 4

So what exactly does Tier 4 mean? There are 4 standardized tiers used to determine the level of service offered from a data center, ranging from basic Tier 1 data centers up to robust Tier 4. As you move up tiers, each one will include all of the features of its predecessor and then add some, which means that Tier 4 packs all of the punch of Tiers 1,2, 3, and more!

Tier 4 data centers maintain a minimum 99.995% availability guarantee, which means there is only 48 minutes of downtime per year! To ensure that the servers within the data center can stay up and running for such an extended time, the hard disks are hot-swappable (meaning that they can be replaced without turning off the server), there are redundant dual-power supplies to keep the server powered on even in the event of one power supply failure, and the power source itself is redundant in case one source fails. With a minimum of 2 processors in the servers you can also keep on running if a CPU fails. Aside from the the servers themselves boasting redundant features, the host facility environment is also fault-tolerant including the uplinks, storage, HVAC systems, and is also dual-powered. When it comes to redundancy and reliablity, Tier 4 is the way to go.

We're Local

We're located in Mississauga, ON so we can are just a stone's throw away from downtown Toronto and the rest of the GTA. If you require data to reside within Canada (or for our international visitors, outside of your home country), Excell IT's data center is the perfect solution to keep your data secure in a state-of-the-art facility.

Security

Sleep easy knowing that your data is under 24 hour video surveillance and is armed with security features like door mantraps. With no unescorted access to the servers, all physical maintenance is performed by our expert administrators so you don't have to worry about unauthorized users tampering with your data.

Surge Protection

Providing a reliable power source is essential to maintaining our 99.995% uptime rate for our clients' hosted and colocated servers. Our advanced system of UPS protects our hosted servers from power surges, and provides them with ample power via battery backup in the event of power outages.

Backup Power

Aside from the server racks having dually-redundant power sources, the entire data center is connected to our diesel-powered generator to ensure that power outages and blackouts do not affect the equipment inside the NOC.

Fiber Connectivity

With multiple Internet lines coming into our data center, we have the ability to keep connected even if one ISP is experiencing an outage. Our high speed connections power bandwidth-heavy services such as data replication and remote backup solutions.

Cooling

Our redundant HVAC system ensures that the servers are kept in the optimal temperature range of 68 to 71 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the servers cool to prevent damage from overheating.
